As well as the extensive event programme organised by staff at ROSL, from the House of Lords Afternoon Tea, to Rush Hour concerts, art exhibitions, and wine tastings, a small army of members also provide a huge variety of social events for the rest of the membership to enjoy. 

Branches

Around the world, our extensive branch network host regular meet-ups, for those who can't make it to the clubhouse. Coffee mornings, formal dinners, theatre trips, concerts, and more. Perhaps you'd like to enjoy a lunch party in the garden of Jeremy and Lady Arabella Moger along with fellow Wessex branch members, or visit the Bendigo Gallery for the 'Tudors to Windsors' exhibition, with members of the branch in Victoria, Australia? In London, the member-run London Group organises a series of regular talks and visits to famous buildings around the capital. Next up, a trip to Fishmongers Hall on 17 June, which is home to one of the city's oldest livery companies, in existence for more than 700 years. We can't forget the Younger Members, who provide a varied social programme for members under 35. Next up, they will be hosting a summer walk and wine tasting on 6 June. Book Group

The ROSL Book Group meets once a month on Wednesdays at the clubhouse, to discuss both classic and modern novels from 6.30-8pm. Group members meet beforehand in the Duke of York Bar and afterwards for dinner, to continue the discussion.

Backgammon Group

The ROSL Backgammon Club is open to all Members and their guests, but please register with the group's co-ordinator Eve Mitleton-Kelly, if you wish to join.

Social Backgammon

Played every Wednesday 2-4pm in the Drawing Room, members can join a game and for lunch at 1pm in the Brabourne Room (must be booked in advance with Eve) or drinks afterwards in the Bar.

Monthly Tutorials

The group's tutor Chris Bray is highly thought of in his field and plays at a high level. He visits once a month for continuing tuition. Please contact Eve Mitleton-Kelly for tuition dates. Bridge Group

The ROSL Bridge Group is open to all ROSL Members and guests every Monday (except bank holidays).

Social bridge

Whether you are a beginner or national champion, all are welcome at Monday social bridge sessions from 2-4pm, using the ACOL system. When the tutor is supervising a £10 contribution is required, when he is absent boards are set up with notes for all levels.

Tuition

Monthly tuition will start in the Autumn at the cost of £20 for Members and £25 for guests payable on the day, but all must register in advance. Ingar Hansen is a professional bridge player and tutor. He won the National Pairs Championship (2013) and several other tournaments.
