On Sunday 16 June 2019 SongPath will hold its inaugural celebration of the restorative powers of walking, talking and music making in the wonderful landscapes of South Cumbria.

Founder and contralto Jess Dandy, the recipient of the 2018 Roderick Lakin Memorial Scholarship has used the support from ROSL to launch the SongPath project this summer and raise money and awareness for two local branches of the mental health charity Mind: Mind in Furness & Ulverston Mind.

The walk begins at the 11th century coastal village of Bardsea, then on to Birkrigg and finishing at Swarthmoor, it’s a more than just a walk, all the while, participants can explore the musical and natural treasures to be found in the landscape around them, celebrating what it means to be rooted and what it means to be well.
