Those members who stay at the clubhouse overnight may have noticed a small voluntary addition to their bedroom bill, just £2, which has been helping to fund the work of ROSL's education projects for many years.

Raising around £8,300 per year, this money is invaluable to the work ROSL is carrying out all over the world. With education projects currently running in Namibia, Sri Lanka, Kenya, India, the Solomon Islands, and Pakistan, this extra funding, on top of that provided the ROSL Golden Jubilee Trust, is making a difference for young people all over the world.

This year, we are focusing on helping girls in rural Pakistan and other countries complete their schooling through a partnership with the Commonwealth Girls Education Fund.

We are also developing a variety of new educational opportunities in India at the Pestalozzi World village. Established in 2003 at Dehradun in Northern India, there are currently 168 children aged 11 to 18 of Indian, Nepalese, and Tibetan origin. They live in village houses with a house mother and attend some of the best English medium schools. In keeping with Pestalozzi principles of 'Head, Heart and Hands', the students get practical training in a range of skills including carpentry, sewing, gardening, computing, and more recently the playing of musical instruments, singing, and dancing.

We will also be supporting additional students studying education at the University of Namibia so that schools in rural areas can meet their teacher requirements.

By contributing that extra £2 every time you stay at the club, those funds make a huge difference in providing a better future for these young people, who often come from rural or marginalised communities, that otherwise would not get access to a decent education. Thank you.
