Monday 11 March marks Commonwealth Day, a celebration of the 53-nation family which was formed 70 years ago. ROSL will be joining in with the festivities here at the clubhouse.

The annual service held at Westminster Abbey, at which ROSL will be represented by several members, is being screened in the Duke of York Bar from 1.30pm. The multicultural, multi-faith service will draw together testimonies, performances and readings from throughout the Commonwealth. The event will feature a procession of Commonwealth flags, with young flag bearers representing each of the 53 nations of the Commonwealth.

At the conclusion of the service, the festivities will continue upstairs in the Rutland and Bennett-Clark Rooms from 4.30pm. Enjoy a special Afternoon Tea buffet and the opportunity to meet people working and living all over the Commonwealth. Join ROSL members and guests for this informal networking event. Tickets are £25, book here.

2019's theme of 'A Connected Commonwealth' celebrates the deep-rooted and far-reaching network of friendship and goodwill that has built up over the last seven decades. The 70th anniversary of the formation of the Commonwealth as it is configured today, makes the most of old ties and new links enabling cooperation towards social, political and economic development which is both inclusive and sustainable. The values and principles around which the 53 member countries and their 2.4 billion people connect are brought together in the Commonwealth Charter.
