London’s Christmas Lights 2018

Regent street lights

Some of you have been gearing up for Christmas since July, others of you will still be in denial, but whatever your opinion of the festive holiday it is fast approaching. This month, London will be switching on its iconic street lights in a series of opening ceremonies. Below are the details we know so far.

  • Oxford Street, Tuesday 6 November: Always London’s first lights to be switched on, this years event will be extra special with in-store gigs and pop-up performances on the night.
  • Carnaby Street, Thursday 8 November: Enjoy special events and discounts in the local shops, bars, and restaurants as the Queen inspired lights are switched on, including lit-up lyrics from the famous Bohemian Rhapsody
  • Covent Garden, Tuesday 13 November: Whilst the organisers are keeping the details of the switch-on event under wraps for now, last year Kylie Minogue did the honours, so we’re expecting something as equally exciting this year.
  • Regent Street, Thursday 15 November: The street goes traffic-free from 5pm so that you can experience the Spirit of Christmas themed lights in all their glory as they are switched on.
