On Monday evening, our 2017 Annual Music Competition ensemble prizewinners the B-L Piano took to the stage at the Esplanade Recital Studio, Singapore, for an evening of contemporary music that The Straits Times called an "amazing spectacle of these two truly virtuoso players performing death-defying pianistic feats in tandem and with such apparent ease."

Bertram and Lynette, who met while studying at the Royal College of Music in 2013, performed a programme of Hesketh, Finnissy, Sciarrino, Tay, and Ravel, on their self-ascribed mission to play the creepiest, craziest music they can get their hands on.

So impressed was reviewer Marc Rochester, that he said: "Perhaps the creepiest and craziest thing about this concert was the way in which two pianos transformed themselves into a vast orchestra."
