Last night, old and new faces from our Younger Member group came together to enjoy a relaxed evening of good food, wine, and conversation.

After a brief introduction from Jessica, our events coordinator, guests enjoyed a simple two-course meal and the pleasure of one another’s company. It was lovely to meet some new younger members, as well as welcome back some well-known figures and their guests. It was delightful to see the amount of history our younger members had already taken in about the club as they eagerly told those not in-the-know about the history of the Rutland Room, from its time as Lady Mountbatten’s bedroom, to the adjoining Bennet-Clark room, which was home to London's first en-suite bathroom.

After the meal was over, members took what was left of the wine out into the garden to carry on the conversations and meet guests they didn’t get a chance to talk to during dinner.

It was lovely to see such a range of younger members, from students at the local universities, to young professionals making strides in their careers, to those travelling, and volunteering across the Commonwealth.

Our next younger member event is Let’s Pig Out, our summer BBQ on Thursday 2 August. However, if you cannot wait until then, the younger member group meets the first Tuesday of every month at 5.30pm for the D-G’s drinks for a free glass of wine, before relaxing in the bar with the committee for the rest of the evening.
