Feel like stretching your legs? You're in luck, as next week we have two walking tours to help you make 10,000 steps-a-day target.

First off, we have a blue badge guided tour of the imperial war Museum on Tuesday 7 November at 11am. Titled 'A Century of War', the tour takes takes guests through the dramatic atrium, featuring iconic militaria such as a Harrier Jump Jet, Spitfire, and a V2 rocket before continuing onto the terraced displays. With the expert Blue Badge guide, guests will discover the themes, surprising links and stories the exhibition items tell about the impact of war and conflict on people’s lives from the First World War to the present day. At the end of the tour guests are then welcome to explore the rest of the museum at their leisure. Tickets cost £25, book here.

7 Nov ME A Century of War Private Tour

The following day, the Hignell Gallery leads a walk through the large outdoor sculptures of artist Sophie Ryder, concluding with a drink in the gallery amongst her more modest works. Taking place on Wednesday 8 November, from 3-6pm, the walk is free to join. Hignell Gallery is located less than a ten-minute walk from the London clubhouse and our friendly neighbours have invited us to attend a free tour and reception so they can share the work they do with all of us. Starting at 3pm at Over-Seas House we are going to enjoy a leisurely walk to St James’s Square to visit Sophie Ryder’s sculptural figures of fantasy in the park, following which we will visit the Gallery to see TEPOZTECO, her indoor exhibition of work and enjoy a drink amongst the sculptures. If you are unable to attend the entire event, you are welcome to come and go as you please and the gallery will be welcoming visitors from ROSL until 6pm. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the art on our doorstep and discover new things to enjoy in our local area. To join this tour, RSVP here.
