The final event in our series celebrating the UK-India Year of Culture and 70 years of Indian independence, takes place on Thursday 3 August, with a talk from Abhaey Singh, aimed at demystifying India.

The second talk from Abhaey, founder of the Indian Debating Union, follows last month's successful event, in which he discussed the tectonic shifts in Indian politics, media and civil society and what this means for the future. Thursday's talk will focus on deconstructing myths about India by exploring Hindu philosophy, the foundations of Dharmic culture and India’s pathbreaking civilizational contributions, concluding by exploring the effects of a resurgent India on the world, and why it matters to people in Britain.

This follows other India-themed events throughout the summer, such as our highly successful Indian summer ball, wine tasting and ROSL ARTS concert.
