ROSL celebrated an international opening on Tuesday night at Atelier Academy in Kigali, Rwanda as guests of the Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) enjoyed an exhibition of Royal Over-Seas League Photography Competition entries from 2021 and 2019, presented as a part of Rwanda Fashion Week during CHOGM2022.
The Commonwealth Marketplace and Royal Over-Seas League Photography Exhibition organised with CollectiveRW in association with Rwanda Fashion Week is taking place during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM2022) and celebrates designers from the commonwealth member states alongside an exhibition of 2021 and 2019 selections from our biennial Photography Competition.
Images from Camera Winners Tirtha Lawati (Nepal/UK, 2021) and Isabella Agbaje (Nigeria, 2019), Mobile Winner Debarun Biswas (India, 2021) and The Madiha Aijaz Prize young photographers of promise Shubhodeep Roy (India, 2021) and Amdad Hossein (Bangladesh, 2019) were joined by a talented list of global shortlisted entries from Aravindan Ganesan (India, 2021 and 2019), Chinmoy Biswas (India, 2021), Clair Robins (UK, 2021), Debdatta Chakraborty (India, 2021), Greg Semu (New Zealand/Australia, 2021), MD Shamim Ul Islam (Bangladesh, 2021), Mussa Uwitonze (Rwanda, 2021), S R Hossain (India, 2021), Soumya Ranjan Bhattacharyya (India, 2021), Syed Mahabubul Kader (Bangladesh, 2021), Mohammad Sohaib (Pakistan, 2019), Nwando Ebeledike (Nigeria, 2019), Sudipto Das (India, 2019), Amos Miller (UK, 2019), Amitava Chandra (India, 2019), Aimee Birnbaum (UK, 2019), Ioana Marinca (Romania, 2019), Juliet Kamanga (South Africa, 2019), Wandile Xaba (South Africa, 2019), Soumyabrata Roy (India, 2019) and Iman Jahangir (Pakistan, 2019).
The exhibition includes six printed images and a screen slideshow of shortlisted entries from the competition. ROSL Photography Exhibition is on view at Atelier Academy, KN 14 Street, Kigali, Rwanda until 25 June.
