Last week ROSL hosted the launch of Ruth Millington's debut book, Muse, plus a panel discussion featuring the key thinkers behind the publication.

On Thursday, 7 April, the Royal Over-Seas League hosted the launch of Muse alongside a special talk with author Ruth Millington, editor Mireille Harper, and illustrator Dina Razin. Muse is the debut book by art historian and critic Ruth Millington, which tells the true stories of the incredible muses who have inspired art history's masterpieces. The book uncovers the remarkable role played by the muse while interrogating if the trope if the is actually a romanticised myth.

The panel discussed the fascinating new insights revealed in the book and shared the story of their creative collaboration. Audience members enjoyed an animated and insightful conversation before posing their own questions to the speakers. The evening was open to both members of the Royal Over-Seas League and the general public and copies of the book were available to purchase on-site. After the discussion had concluded, there was a book signing which gave attendees the opportunity to speak with Ruth further about the subjects explored in the book.
