Even though restrictions have recently tightened in London, we are still able to put on some fantastic in-person events for members in the coming weeks that showcase our wonderful commitment to the arts, a sector struggling with the lack of COVID-safe performance opportunities and meagre government support. At ROSL, we are proud to be able to continue to support young artists and musicians through these difficult times.

On 4 November, Annual Music Competition alum Mathilde Milwidsky violin will take to the Princess Alexandra Hall's stage to perform Szymanowski - Mythes, Op. 30 and Elgar - Violin Sonata in E minor, Op 82. The socially-distanced audience can enjoy the live recital over a glass of prosecco. For those unable to make it to London, the performance will be livestreamed online. Book here.

The following day, on 5 November, the Royal Drawing School's Francis Martin will lead two still life drawing classes for members and guests. Francis taught us how to draw over lockdown with his ROSL at Home videos and now is your chance to learn in person. Francis will lead two classes, the first from 3 to 5 pm and the second from 6 to 8pm where you will be taught how to draw various still life compositions. You may book for one or both classes, basic materials are provided and you are welcome to bring along objects or materials of your choosing. Tickets include tea and coffee. Book here.

Getting involved in these two events not only helps to fill the cultural void left by Covid, but you also directly help these early career artists and musicians.
