Connaught Brass claimed the top £10,000 prize in the exciting second ensemble final for the 70th year of the ROSL Annual Music Competition.

Last Thursday evening at ROSL Clubhouse, London saw a unique opportunity to draw Lucian Freud's muse Sue Tilley, who posed for some of the artist’s most iconic paintings, including ‘Benefits Supervisor Sleeping’ (1995) and ‘Benefits Supervisor Resting’ (1994) which went on to sell for a record-breaking £35 million ($56 million) at auction.

The Paddington Trio clinched the top prize with a nuanced and powerful performance of Shostakovich in the hotly contested first ensemble final for the 70th year of the ROSL Annual Music Competition.

Guitarist Jack Hancher drew in the audience and panel with an intimate programme of Britten and Dowland in the last solo section final of the 70th year of the ROSL Annual Music Competition.
