We have pleasure in presenting seven wines from the Mount Brown Estates, New Zealand, with their wine grower Frank Manifold on hand to present his wines alongside a three-course dinner in the Restaurant on Thursday 5 September.
After the success of other wine tastings this summer, we have now decided to offer a food and wine pairing evening featuring some of the best produce available in New Zealand. Take a look at the menu below:
Crab doughnuts, curry oil, citrus avocado. Poached yellow tomato, basil oil, beef tomato powder.
Wines to be served: Mount Brown Sauvignon Blanc 2018, Catherine’s Block Sauvignon Blanc 2017
Grilled rainbow trout, smoked aubergine puree, kumara chilli and spinach croquette, smoked fish cracker.
Wines to be served: Mount Brown Pinot Gris 2017, Catherine’s Block Pinot Gris 2016
Seared lamb rump, Hangi shoulder of lamb, roast shallot, carrot purée, truffle mushroom jus.
Wines to be served: Mount Brown Pinot Noir 2017, Catherine’s Block Pinot Noir 2017
Sister Sarah soft goat’s cheese alongside a Brighton Blue served with crackers, grapes and a kiwi chutney.
Wine to be served: Mount Brown Riesling 2016
A vegetarian menu will also be available.
With Frank explaining the production process, the history of the Mount Brown Estate and the flavours present in each wine, this promises to be an englightening as well as delicious evening!
