Our 2019 ROSL Recitals series at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is now well-underway, with our exceptional AMC alumni and scholars coming together to delight the crowds.
Things kicked off on Monday with our first 'Bach for Breakfast' concert, at which 2018 Annual Music Competition Gold Medal winner Jonathan Radford saxophone and 1998 Accompanist Prize winner Stephen de Pledge piano got things going with a bang!
Aaaaand we’re off, our first @edfringe concert served up some beautiful Bach from @jonradfordsax & pianist Stephen De Pledge at the @RoyalScotsClub - two more concerts left today! Join us at 2pm for some #Chopin and 4pm for some #Mozart. #MakeYourFringe #ROSLRecitals pic.twitter.com/th7xHZODf3

This was the first of three concerts that day, and everyday, with a 9.30am breakfast concert of Bach or Beethoven, a 2pm after lunch concert of Chopin, Rachmaninov, or Gershwin, and a 4pm teatime concert of Mozart, Brahms or Debussy.
For a mid-week treat tomorrow we have #BachforBreakfast at 9:30am, #ChopinAfterLunch at 2pm & #MozartatTeatime at 4pm with our brilliant musicians for our @edfringe #ROSLRecitals concert series. There are still tickets left so book now! https://t.co/w5D3QMrq5w pic.twitter.com/c2bMHyL6Z2

Jonathan and Stephen have been joined by some exceptional talent this week; including Florian Mitrea piano, Jennifer Witton soprano, Emily Sun violin, Shannon Rhodes violin, Ashley Fripp piano, the Marmen Quartet, and Simon Lepper piano, all ROSL prizewinners.
Last night, to celebrate 20 years of ROSL's recital series at the Fringe, a special gala concert was held, which saw Jennifer, Simon and the Marmen Quartet joined by cellist John Myerscough and 2011 AMC Gold Medal winner Sean Shibe guitar, followed by a drinks reception at which the musicians mingled with the audience.
Tonight's gala concert at @ROSLARTS@edfringe was my favourite event of the Edinburgh Festival so far. Thank you @seanstshibe@JenniferWitton@SimonLepper and especially @marmenquartet +John Myerscough for beautiful Schubert

There's plenty more to enjoy next week, so if you're in town by sure to head over to the Royal Scots Club (venue 241) for a break for the buzz of the city streets with some beautiful music. Take a look at the full programme here.
