A new work by composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad, commissioned by AMC 2018 Gold Medal Winner Jonathan Radford and ROSL, will premiere at Brighton Festival next week. Watch a sneak peek of Algernon here.
Following Jonathan's victory at the 2018 Annual Music Competition, his desire was to use some of the prize money to commission new repertoire for saxophone and found the perfect partner in Cheryl.
The work will receive its world premiere at next week's Brighton Festival, performed by Jonathan and fellow ROSL alumus Ashley Fripp piano. The duo will also perform Algernon at Buxton International Festival in July, find out more and book tickets here.
We are also now very close to finding out who will take home the 2019 AMC Gold Medal and £15,000 first prize. Could it also be used to commission new works? Book here to find out.
