A Christmas message from the December 1938 edition of Overseas, sees our founder Sir Evelyn Wrench reiterate the founding principles of ROSL.
May I take this opportunity of wishing every reader of Overseas a happy Christmas and may the international horizon gradually clear. May the year 1939 give us all an increased realisation of the great future which lies before the British Commonwealth. We are citizens of no mean city, a world State which is unqiue and which rests on law, order and good government; and may each one of us, members of the Over-Seas League, every week throughout the year re-dedicate ourselves to the service of the Commonwealth and our fellows, in no spirit of hostility to any other nation! Our motto must be fair play for every British subject, whatever his creed, colour or clan.
