Happy Diwali to all our Hindu, Sikh and Jain members. The festival that symbolises joy, love, reflection, resolution, forgiveness, light and knowledge; and represents the victory of good over evil, and light over darkness. Find out how you can join in the celebration of this year's Festival of Lights as Diwali turns our grey November London into something altogether more colourful.

The main celebration in London took place last month in Trafalgar Square, but there are still plenty of other opportunities to get involved this week.

Devonshire Square will be hosting its own free Diwali festivities this evening (7 November) from 5-7.30pm. Expect food, folk music and Indian dance, as well as the art of Rangoli, one of India's finest visual arts traditions. Find out more here.

Indian restaurant chain Dishoom, which has branches across London, is celebrating Diwali by creating a special dish of vegetarian phaldari kofta ruby. Think dumplings stuffed with vegetable, paneer and pomegranate. Delicious.

If you're not able to join in the celebrations this week, don't worry, as the Nehru Centre, the cultural wing of the Indian High Commission in the UK, has regular events that are free to attend. For example, on 19 November the Natarang Dance Group will present a dance recital entitled “Between Air and Earth” in which the dancers "capture the essence of the beautiful Diwali enchantment". Register here if you would like to attend.
