After the hugely successful launch of our What's On page over the summer, Jessica Harris-Edwards has updated the page for October. Hampstead Heath Conker Championship, Wednesday 10 October 2.30pm – 6.30pm

Now in its 17th year, the Hampstead Heath Conker Championship is open to all ages from under 5’s to the over 18s. It attracts hundreds of Londoners and out of towners alike, who come to battle it out to be the ultimate conker champ. Conkers will be provided and if you would like to give it a go you need to be there by 2.30pm to register.

Diwali on Trafalgar Square, Sunday 28 October, all day

Enthusiastically celebrated by people of all nationalities, races and religions, Diwali, the festival of lights creates a magical world of joy and festivity. It celebrates the triumphant victory of good over evil – and the glory of light over darkness, a beam of hope over despair. The word Diwali or Deepavali (in its full form), means ‘a row of lamps’.

Diwali marks a new beginning, a renewal of commitment to family values, and represents all the good virtues we seek such as love, reflection, forgiveness and knowledge. So why not join in with this free event full of live music and activities in Trafalgar Square.

Frieze Art Fair and Frieze Masters, Regents Park, Thursday 4 – Sunday 7 October

In two grandiose tents in Regents Park you will find Frieze Art Fair and Frieze Masters. A short walk from each other, the Art Fair presents the international contemporary art world, while Masters presents the historical context through which this work has come to be. There is so much to see in the tents alone, but don’t forget about the amazing talk programme, have a look on the website to plan your visit.
