Last night over 120 new and prospective members joined staff, partners, and volunteers in the Princess Alexandra Hall for our biannual New Members’ Reception.

The reception is a chance for our latest members and people considering joining the club to find out what we stands for and the many benefits of being a member. Among those who attended to help out the staff were representatives of the Book and Bridge Clubs, the Younger Member Committee, the London Group, the Bournemouth Branch, Graysons, DAKS and Davys Wine Merchants, all of whom were enthusiastic to talk to our guests about what they love about the Royal Over-Seas League.

The evening started with a glass of wine and a chance to network. Halfway through the evening, Director-General, Dr Diana Owen gave a short speech about the reasons why she loves ROSL and what she is looking forward to in the year ahead, drawing attention to our strong history of equality for members no matter their gender, geographical location or culture, and the way ROSL maintains its original objectives set out by Sir Evelyn Wrench including providing humanitarian aid, strengthening connections through the Commonwealth and providing a home away from home.

Afterwards, Section Final winner Jonathan Radford performed for guests as they returned to their networking, showarounds, wine, and nibbles.
