With the deadline for entries to our Annual Music Competition 2018 fast approaching we take a look at 2017’s winners and what they have been up to since our Gold Medal Final in Cadogan Hall.

James Buckle, bass trombone, was the first ever brass-playing Gold Medal winner of our competition in its 65 year history, and also the first recipient of the Manu Bhungara Scholarship. James graduated from the Royal Academy of music and has since been performing with the Philharmonia Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra and the English National Opera. With such an exciting career ahead of him we can’t wait to see what he’ll do next!
