We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Diana Owen as Director-General; who will take up her appointment on Monday 4 December.

Diana Owen brings extensive experience of working in the not-for-profit sector, with the National Trust, and for the last ten years, as Chief Executive of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (SBT) in Stratford-upon-Avon, a global hub for Shakespeare fans everywhere. Diana has grown the SBT’s national and international profile and reputation, leading significant cultural and capital projects in Stratford and with partners worldwide.

Sir David Brewer, ROSL Chairman, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Diana to the ROSL family, and believe Diana’s experience, professionalism and energy will help shape a bright future for our international membership organisation.”

Looking forward to taking up her new appointment, Diana said:

"ROSL is an extraordinary organisation with a fascinating history and, through its very active membership, arts, education and humanitarian programmes, ROSL makes a real difference to people, especially young people, across the Commonwealth. Its mission to promote international friendship and understanding is even more vital in these troubled times. I am honoured to have this opportunity and I am especially proud to continue its long standing tradition of service to the ideals of the Commonwealth including equality, inclusivity and respect for all".

She will take up her new role from Monday 4 December, but will get a feel for the club beforehand by attending the ROSL Chairman’s Dinner on Wednesday 15 November 2017. Those you wishing to come along and catch your first glimpse of Diana, please book here.
