Be Smart About Art networking is a monthly opportunity to meet artists, curators and other peers, to view exhibitions and spaces, and to expand knowledge - creative and professional alike. On Tuesday 22 August 2017, ROSL are hosting BSAA to accompany the current ‘Young Masters’ exhibition presented by Cynthia Corbett Gallery.

This exhibition celebrates artists who pay homage to the skill and traditions of the past. Many entrants of the Young Masters prize competition, past and present, are exhibited and boast variety in medium and subject, as well as artists varying in age and experience, all displayed in the grand setting of the historic clubhouse at The Royal Over-Seas League.

With arrivals starting at 6.30pm, all attendees will be invited to browse the exhibition, as well as talk with fellow visitors, ROSL ARTS staff and BSAA's very own Susan Mumford. Approximately half way through the event, Susan will facilitate a Q+A with ROSL ARTS Co-ordinator Eilidh McCormick providing insight into the exhibition, larger gallery programme and the fascinating subject of the skills and traditions of the past influencing contemporary art. As a summer special, Susan will be taking three lessons learned inside the art world that are presented in our book, Art is your life, Make it your living, and will present these stories in a participatory conversation with attendees. And last but not least, three top networking tips for the art world (noting that your network is key to success!) will be delivered by Be Smart About Art. The event will finish at 8.30pm.

Note that arrivals are welcome at any time during the event, between 6.30-8.30pm. Friends of ROSL ARTS will receive a discount code via email, for ROSL members and guests, tickets cost £9.95. Visit the Be Smart About Art website to book.
