Sit back, relax and be entertained as the Royal Academy of Music take you on a journey through the glorious lyrics of Dorothy Fields, from her famous 1920s pop songs to Broadway and Hollywood musicals.  This specially devised cabaret featuring Dorothy Fields’ work will be directed by George Hall with musical direction from Guy Frati and Alex Beetschen.

Brought to you by the academy's Musical Theatre Company, which the BBC called 'One of the most prestigious hothouses of young musical talent in the world' and Sir Elton John called 'this is a place of sheer joy and exuberance, where talents are passed on from generation to generation’. High praise indeed.

The wide-ranging work of Dorothy Fields has been revered by some of the leading lights in musical history; Stephen Sondheim was a fan, saying "One of my favourite lyricists is Dorothy Fields". Hear from the woman herself in this archive footage from 1960, as she discusses her life and career.
