A Christmas Message from Director-General Annette Prandzioch.

The festive season is often a time to reflect, both on the year that has been and the year ahead of us. 2020 has undoubtedly been one of the most challenging ever for the ROSL community both in the UK and across the world. Many of us have been isolated from our friends and extended families and I hope very much we will be able to re-charge all of our relationships over the Christmas holiday.

The ROSL clubhouse has been closed twice for government-imposed lockdowns creating a raft of challenges, and for me personally one of the strangest of starts to a new career. However, there is reason for optimism. With a vaccine now on the horizon, 2021 looks set to be a brighter and more convivial year. The ROSL team has been working hard to create an even better membership experience. We are launching an exciting new public and international events series with prominent speakers such as Lord Chris Patten, which will take place in person as well as on-line. For those visiting the Clubhouse, you will enjoy the elegant new Drawing room, just installed, as well an all-new food and drink offering in 2021. And of course the music and arts offering will continue to excel, welcoming musicians of the global prominence to ROSL such as Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja. All in all a lot to look forward to!

I wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year, and hope to meet many more of you in person during the course of the coming months.
