As businesses, restaurants, galleries, museums and more, slowly reemerge from their hibernation, London is once again becoming the destination city we know and love.
Recently reopened museums and galleries include the Tate Modern and Tate Britain, which are offering timed visits you can book in advance here, to ensure social distancing can be maintained. New exhibitions include the largest showing of Aubrey Beardsley's drawings in 50 years at Tate Britain and a new look at the life and work of pop art superstar Andy Warhol at Tate Modern.
Likewise, the V&A is offering free timed tickets to exhibits on the ground and basement levels, which be booked here. On these floors, you can explore European history from 1615-1800 and all the exhibits on the ground floor, as well as the main shop and cafe.
The Royal Academy, just around the corner from Over-Seas House, has now reopened 11am to 5pm, with all visitors needing to prebook here. Current exhibitions to entice you in are Gauguin and the Impressionists and Léon Spilliaert.
The National Gallery, with its collection stretching from the 13th century to 1900, has also reopened daily with late opening until 9pm on Fridays. Book your free visit here.
Last week, the National Gallery joined the party by opening limited ground floor collections. Free tickets can be booked here. Later in September, the new exhibition Tantra will open, which explores the ancient Indian philosophy and its impact on the religious, cultural and political landscape of the country.
