Get your morning off to an invigorating start by watching cellist Leo Popplewell, winner of 2019 Ensembles Prize with the Mithras Trio at last year's Annual Music Competition, as he plays the Moto perpetuo e Canto quarto from Benjamin Britten's Cello Suite No. 1 Op. 72.
Explaining why he chose to perform this piece, Leo said:
"One of the hardest things for me in the current lockdown is the absence of my partners from the Mithras Trio - indeed, all chamber music is currently on hold! Fortunately there is a large volume of solo cello repertoire to sink my teeth into, and I am taking this rare opportunity to learn and revisit some solo works close to my heart."
