Currently showing outside the Royal Over-Seas League are six commissioned flags produced by artist Nisha Duggal during Heritage and Our Communities, an Artist-in-Residence project by ROSL ARTS in partnership with Riverley Primary School in Leyton, East London (part of the Griffin Schools Trust) kindly supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Through exploring the heritage of ROSL’s historic home, Over-Seas House, Nisha delivered a series of art workshops at Riverley, developing Year 5 pupils' own creative practice inspired by the themes of heritage, community and home. Collectively titled Landed, these banners herald a merging of culture, diaspora and identity that reflects the synergy and grace of communities coming together at a membership club dedicated to championing international friendship and understanding.

Colour is used symbolically on these flags to represent nature, nationhood, industry and beyond. Amongst the designs influenced by Nisha's experiences working with pupils of Riverley is an adapted Union Jack flag from the open source flagforlondon.uk project, combining the 25 colours of all the countries’ flags made into one. Its message is simple, "Wherever you, your relatives, or your friends came from, your or their flag is in there." This collection celebrates the here and now, set within this historically resonant courtyard.
