Since 2016, ROSL has been keen to join the conversation about the benefits of good arts and music education and promote arts education opportunities for young people. This has manifested itself most fully in our partnerships with the Griffin Schools Trust in the UK and the Antigua and Barbuda Youth Symphony Orchestra (ABYSO) in the Caribbean.

Children's Opera Oratorio

This year, in partnership with Buxton International Festival we co-commissioned a Children's Opera Oratorio.

Griffin School's Trust

Griffin Schools Trust is a multi-academy trust of 13 schools based in the West Midlands, KKent and East London. The trust has a strong commitment to embedding music into the curriculum of every student, building social confidence, raising overall learning standards, and unlocking undiscoverd artistic potential for many recipients.
ROSL has a partnership with the Griffin Schools Trust, offering outreach and development opportunities to school age students. Griffin students have benefitted from workshops with Britten Sinfonia and Kabantu here at ROSL as well as visual arts sessions with Eilidh McCormick, ROSL Visual Arts Curator. In June 2020, 40 Griffin Schools students will also perform in the world premiere of the co-commissioned Children's Opera Oratorio in Coventry.

Antigua and Barbuda Youth Symphony Orchestra (ABYSO)
ROSL ARTS also supports the Antigua and Barbuda Youth Symphony Orchestra, with ROSL prizewinners working with the orchestra each summer on their orchestra courses. We also funded scholarships for young Antiguan Musicians to continue their music education for a year, and we are keen to grow and enhance our support for this vital work.
