For a third year the Royal Over-Seas League are hosting the work of young artists selected by The Arts Society and the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) in the exhibition RBA Rising Stars 2019.

Join us to preview the work at the Private View on Thursday 25 April 2019 from 6 - 8pm, where many of the artists will be in attendance for the drinks reception at Over-Seas House, London.

The work in RBA Rising Stars began with 247 proposed young artists chosen by The Arts Society, from which the RBA selected 21 to be presented on the walls of Over-Seas House, London. The exhibition also includes the work of 20 semi-finalists aged 35 years or under who entered to be awarded the esteemed RBA Rome Scholarship 2019. All the artists exhibiting at ROSL are early in their careers and were selected for their exceptional works which combine the highest levels of skill, expression and draughtsmanship using a variety of medium exploring equally varied subjects.

We are proud to once again work with the two respected and prestigious organisations, The Arts Society and the RBA to present outstanding artwork at our ROSL headquaters and offer our members, friends and the public a glimpse into the future of fine art.

The Royal Society of British Artists

The Royal Society of British Artists began in 1823, as the ‘Society of British Artists’, whose manifesto stated, ‘This organisation was not formed to rival existing societies but that every Member was to be at liberty to assist and support any other society’, a mentality that is continued to this day. Becoming the ‘Royal Society of British Artists’ in 1887, the Society attracted many painters and sculptors of note including Walter Sickert, Philip de László, LS Lowry, Henry Moore, Peter Greenham, Sir Roger de Grey, Carel Weight and Colin Hayes. In 1970 the RBA become the main contributor to the Federation of British Artists at Mall Galleries. www.royalsocietyofbritishartists.org.uk
