Use of ROSL reciprocal clubs

In order to visit one of ROSL's reciprocal clubs, ROSL members must apply for a letter of introduction to be presented upon arrival at that club.

In order to apply for a letter of introduction please login to the secure members' portal or email guestrelations@rosl.org.uk

Applying for a letter of introduction implies that you have read and understood the following terms and conditions

  1. . Reciprocal club facilities are only available to ROSL members who are travelling outside of the country in which they reside or work. In some cases, for example Canada, certain reciprocal clubs may allow members from other states or provinces within their country to use their facilities.
  2. Letters of introduction can be issued for a maximum of 12 – 30 days (dependent on the rules of the reciprocal club) per city per calendar year. Dates requested cannot span more than three consecutive calendar months per club or per city.
  3. If the exact dates of a reciprocal club visit are unknown or likely to change, a letter of introduction can be issued which requests access for a set period of time – however, this cannot exceed the maximum number of visits permitted by the reciprocal club(s) in question (please refer to point 2).
  4. In order to ensure requests for letters of introduction can be processed in time, a minimum of 5 working days’ notice must be given for all requests.
  5. Any dates which have been requested but are not used still count towards the member’s annual limit of 12 - 30 days per city per calendar year. We regret that it will not be possible to cancel letters of introduction if we receive less than two working days’ notice.
  6. Letters of introduction are only valid if a member’s subscription is active at the time of usage. ROSL reserves the right to cancel any letters of introduction issued to members who do not renew their memberships.
  7. If multiple persons require access to a reciprocal club, all parties must hold ROSL membership and request their own letter of introduction prior to their stay.
  8. Right of entrance is entirely at the discretion of the club’s management. It is your responsibility to read and comply with the rules and the dress code of each reciprocal establishment you use.
  9. Please note that reciprocity arrangements with other clubs can change at short notice. Please check our list of reciprocal clubs on www.rosl.org.uk prior to travel to ensure our reciprocal agreement with the club of your choice is still active.
  10. All accounts must be cleared with the reciprocal club visited on departure.
  11. For reservations and further information on the rules of each club, please contact the clubs directly. Remember to keep your ROSL membership card with you whilst on reciprocal club premises. Please note that some reciprocal clubs will also ask to see your passport and/or other documentation.
  12. Letters of Introduction are issued at the discretion of the Royal Over-Seas League.
