Since his inauguration, President Trump has courted controversy in the media but what are the real economic, diplomatic and human consequences of his presidency on the US, the UK and the rest of the world? Our expert panel, ably lead by broadcaster and ROSL Member, Michael McKay explore this and more - with Q&A from the floor.

Confirmed panellists:

  • Sir Peter Westmacott GCMG, LVO – British Ambassador to USA, 2012-2016
  • Dr Jacob Parakilas, Deputy Head US and the Americas Programme, Chatham House
  • Dr Jack Caravelli, former Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy; Visiting Professor at the UK Defence Academy, Shrivenham.

They will discuss the speed with which President Trump has put himself at odds with several US institutions, his willingness to rip up the rule book when it comes to international diplomacy and dealing with the press, the ongoing concern over his inner circle's ties to Russia and his military first, welfare second, approach to policy making.

The audience will get a chance to ask questions of our esteemed panel and open up a lively dialogue on the 'leader of the free world'.

Tickets for the lecture, taking place on 27 July at 6.30pm include:

Champagne reception and lecture £25, £30 guests
Champagne reception, lecture and two course supper £50, £60 guests
