ANZAC Day Commemorated

Today marks the national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, that commemorates those who have died serving their country in war and peacetime. Originally ANZAC Day just honoured the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC), who fought in Gallipolli during the First World War, one of the bloodiest battles of the war, but has since been broadened to include other service men and women in later conflicts.

Let's Go Ferio

The winners of the Ensemble prize at the 2015 Annual Music Competition, the Ferio Saxophone Quartet, are touring New Zealand in November with ROSL ARTS, giving concerts in Auckland, Waiheke Island, Havelock North, Nelson, Christchurch, Oamaru, Wanaka and Queenstown. 

New Zealand Celebrates Waitangi Day

Today New Zealanders are celebrating Waitangi Day, which commemorates the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi on 6 February 1840, the nation's founding document. 

New Zealand Vigil Tonight

Following the horrific shootings last week in Christchurch, New Zealanders in London will be coming together this evening in Trafalgar Square to hold a vigil from 6pm. 

NZTrio Live From Auckland on 18 April

NZTrio, made up of Annual Music Competition alumni Amalia Hall violin, Ashley Brown cello, and Somi Kim piano will be livestreaming their Dramatic Skies 1: Strauss from Auckland on Sunday 18 April at 5pm local time. 

Overseas Award Goes to Benson Wilson

Last night saw the final clubhouse-based concert of this year's Annual Music Competition, in which the most outstanding overseas musicians from the previous weeks' Section Finals were invited back to compete for the Overseas Award.

The Family Club

ROSL is lucky enough to often have several generations of the same family as members. Stories of parents meeting at the clubhouse and signing up their children as members years later makes us thankful that so many of you choose ROSL as your home from home for so many years. New Zealand member Marian Elder similarly found love at the club. After she recently passed away, her son David tells her story.
