The Annual Music Competition has been a part of the ROSL calendar for more than 65 years, growing in scope and stature to become world renowned for the quality of young musicians it attracts and the long-standing relationship it builds with its alumni, helping musicians to build their careers in classical music long after they have competed. 

Webinar: High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda HE Karen-Mae Hill

UK High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda, and founder of the Antigua and Barbuda Youth Symphony Orchestra, Her Excellency Karen-Mae Hill joins ROSL Artistic Director Geoff Parkin on 22 July for a chat about the project to bring orchestral music and learning to Antigua and Barbuda. They will also be joined by manager of the orchestra Claudine Benjamin.

2019 looks set to be a stellar year at ROSL, with a number of new events to look forward to, alongside your old favourites, which aim to put arts and education at the heart of ROSL, as set out in our Royal Charter.

WWI Remembrance at ROSL

Autumn will see ROSL honour those who fought and lost their lives during the First World War as commemorations reach a climax, marking the centenary of Armistice on 11 November 1918. 

WWI Remembrance: Never Such Innocence

Last night we saw the second of our three First World War Concerts Never Such Innocencewith actor Christopher Kent and ROSL prizewinner Gamal Khamis. This show is touring the UK and we were happy to have the opportunity to present it to our ROSL members so close to the centenary of armistice. 

WWI Remembrance: The Music of Britain and France

Last night saw ROSL musical alumni from around the world gather to honour the memory of those who fought in the First World War, with particular emphasis on the composers whose works reflected the changing attitudes towards the hostilities. 

Young Masters Exhibition Opens

Last night the London Clubhouse welcomed visitors to Young Masters, a new exhibition in partnership with the Cynthia Corbitt Gallery. 

Younger Members First Thursdays

As many of you will know, the staple of the Younger Members' event calendar is the Frst Thursdays meet-ups, which (appropriately enough) happen on the first Thursday of every month. In February, younger members will be gathering to raise funds to help fight the Australian bushfires. 

Younger Members Gather for Reception

Last night, the Drawing Room was the venue for the annual Younger Members' Reception, which gives prospective and recently-joined members a chance to find out more about the work of ROSL, meet their fellow younger members and get involved in the group's activities. 

Younger Members Take Over

Last night saw the usually subdued Drawing Room and Mountbatten Room taken over for the annual Younger Members' Reception, where new and prospective younger members come together to see what ROSL has to offer. 

Younger Members Vote Now

Our Younger Members are part of a lively social scene for the under 35s. They are organised in part by the club, but at the helm are a dedicated committee made up of younger members who have got involved with various parts of the Royal Over-Seas League, whether it’s helping at events or sitting on Central Council.

Saturday saw younger members from across clubland descend on ROSL's Garden for the Inter-Club Vogue Garden Party.

Last night saw new younger members and prospective members come together in the beautiful surroundings of the Willingdon Drawing Room for an evening of drinks and discussion, plus a chance to meet the Younger Members Committee and find out about all that the club has to offer.
