£2 Goes a Long Way

Those members who stay at the clubhouse overnight may have noticed a small voluntary addition to their bedroom bill, just £2, which has been helping to fund the work of ROSL's education projects for many years.

Investing in Africa’s Next Generation

In a new education project, the ROSL Golden Jubilee Trust (GJT) and the Business Council for Africa (BCA) will enable over 80 youngsters to experience Boitumelo Mo Nageng (Joy in the Wild), which engages with vulnerable youth in Botswana to unlock their potential. Margaret Adrian-Vallance reports.

ROSL Welcomes Riverley Primary School for Music Workshop

In a new departure for ROSL we were pleased to welcome 25 schoolchildren from Riverley Primary School in Leyton on Friday to participate in a workshop with Kabantu, winners of the Mixed Ensembles prize in the 2017 ROSL Annual Music Competition.

Small But Perfectly Formed

The Commonwealth is a big place and ROSL’s Education projects touch communities in some of them - Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, India, Pakistan and the Solomon Islands – due to the generous spirit of members and assisting organisations. Margaret Adrian-Vallance reports.

Thank You From Mondesa Youth Opportunities

The teachers and students of Mondesa Youth Opportunities (MYO), a project supported by ROSL in Namibia, have got in touch to thank you the kind donations from members that allow the ROSL Trust to support young people there.

Watch: The Importance of Music Education

ROSL prides itself on the good it can do for 'humanity at large', one of our founding principles. Today, that is most often achieved through our support of the arts and of education. While not often bringing these two facets of the club together, earlier this year we put music education centre stage. In July, ROSL we were pleased to welcome 25 schoolchildren from Riverley Primary School in Leyton to participate in a workshop with Kabantu, winners of the Mixed Ensembles prize in the 2017 ROSL Annual Music Competition.
