Art Exhibitions
The League's annual exhibition for young Commonwealth artists established in 1984 and solo exhibitions are also held throughout the year at the London and Edinburgh clubhouses.
Concerts
The League's renowned annual music competition for young classical musicians from the Commonwealth was established in 1952. In February and March, members can enjoy the evening section finals of woodwind/brass, keyboard, strings, singers and chamber ensembles held at the London clubhouse with wine served afterwards. The final is usually held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in June. Musical evenings are arranged periodically in historic buildings, such as St James's Palace or Kensington Palace.
Literary Lectures
Speakers at these evenings with question and answer sessions followed by wine and soft drinks, have included Vikram Seth on A Suitable Boy, Peter Ackroyd on Sir Thomas More, Jack Higgins on writing thrillers, PJ O'Rourke on global economies and Louis de Berniers on Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
Friends of ROSL ARTS
