Miranda Moore - Editor

 

Miranda has been Editor of Overseas since 2008 and gained previous experience editing, sub-editing and writing for publications such as The Times, The Independent and New Nation. After completing a degree in English Literature and Philosophy at the University of Leeds, she spent eight months working as a volunteer at a hospital in eastern Ghana before taking up her first full-time position as Assistant Editor of Overseas and The Linguist. After being promoted to Deputy Editor, she left this role in 2002 to study Spanish and volunteer in Latin America, and then worked for four years on UK publications from London and Mexico. In 2006, she became Commissioning Editor on The Independent's special projects desk and Editor of The Linguist, which she continues to edit today. Miranda lives in London and has two young children. 

 

Claire Simon - Assistant Editor

 

Claire started as Assistant Editor for Overseas in July 2011. She graduated from the University of Warwick in 2009 with a degree in English and French, and has spent a large amount of time since her graduation living and working in France. Claire previously worked in Marketing and PR at a renewable energy company, where she gained much of her experience of editing and writing copy. She was also a writer and editor for the university newspaper during her degree.
